ULTIMATE INSTAGRAM GUIDE TO NEW YORK CITY

After a year of living in the most Instagramable city aka NYC, I am ready to share some of my favorite and most iconic spots to take Instagram photos! This is the ultimate Instagram guide. Wether you live in the city or just traveling for a couple of days, being in the Big Apple you’re more then likely to post a photo or two to your Instagram feed! If you want to know how I edit my Instagram photos, check out my previous blogpost.
New York is a big big city with all it’s burrows and a ton of spots for a great pic. With that comes the struggle of long distance. Spending all day looking for a perfect spot to snap a pic might me challenging and exhausting. This is why here are the most popular and always a classic places for a photo!
1.TOP OF THE ROCK
First up, one of the most iconic views of the city. Although it is quite an expensive spot to be, it is so worth it!
My Tip: I recommend going in the earlier admission. 8am-10am. It’s not yet crowded and gives more space to shoot the desired photos.
2. BROOKLYN BRIDGE
Unless you come at 5am, don’t expect to catch a clean pic. The bridge is always crowded with tourists and locals who cross it for a quicker commute. Be on the lookout for bikes and stay on the pedestrian side of the bridge.
My tip: Start walking the bridge from the Brooklyn side. The view is breathtaking.
3. BROOKLYN HEIGHTS PARK
This is without a doubt one of my favorite places to be at in NYC. The skyline of Manhattan skyscrapers not only relaxing but always a great view for the photos.
My Tip: Sit on the bench, take a deep breath, relax. This is such a perfect place to take a minute (before or after taking a load of photos). Appreciate the majesty of the city.
4. FLATIRON BUILDING
On the 23rd and Broadway. There it is – an iconic New York City structure. Flatiron Building remains the top tourist destination due to it’s unusual but inspiring structure.
My Tip: Head there early morning or after noon to avoid harsh lightening.
5. SOHO
Soho is probably the most beloved location in NYC by both bloggers and photographers. Its like the neighborhood was made for photoshoots. You’ll find luxury boutiques, adorably cute cafes, bakeries, bars.
My Tip: Head on to The Village for “Friends” and “Sex And the City” vibe.
6. WASHINGTON SQUARE PARK
A little Parisian style in your photos. Modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris this smaller New York Arch in Washington Square Park is a stunning feature to your photos.
My Tip: Once in the park, enjoy the scenery and people watching. Listen to some piano, or band that is always there in the park.
That’s it for today. Hope you liked this small guide to New York City! Did I miss any of your favorite spots in NYC? Let me know!
xoxo, Vika
